Leilu Salt (Mang Tang or Son Ke Salt)
Essential oil from Mang Tang has antibacterial properties against species such as Bacillus mycoides, B. subtilis, B. pyocyaneus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp., Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Proteus vulgaris, Salmonella typhi, Shigella dysenteriae, Shigella flexneri, and Staphylococcus aureus.
It helps combat heart rhythm disorders, myocardial ischemia, and ulcers caused by hydrochloric acid, supports respiratory health by alleviating asthma, and counters hypersensitivity caused by albumin. Notably, it has calming and sedative effects.
Certain parts of the plant are used for medicinal purposes.
Additionally, the aroma of Mang Tang combines three elements: the scent of lemongrass, the fragrance of lime leaves, and the spicy kick of pepper.
The spice from Litsea cubeba is perfect for marinating all types of meat, especially fish.
When crushed and mixed into dipping sauces, Litsea cubeba spice delivers a spicy, tangy flavor that is not as intensely hot as green chili. However, its robust aroma strongly stimulates the senses, making dishes significantly more enjoyable.
